Unfortunately, there is no decrease in the number of rescue clubs and organizations because there is always much work for them to do about English Bulldogs. Many people abandon their dogs for various reasons. This may be a change in living conditions, a move to another place. Many get disappointed about their pets after they grow up, which often comes as the result of impulse buying.
Many dogs are euthanized in the US because owners do not know ways other than this to dispose of their pets. This happens because of irresponsible buying, or buying from irresponsible breeders, who actually care little about the well-being of the breed and only seek profit and glory.
Many inexperienced owners do not know how to deal with health problems and surrender their dogs. That is why it is crucial to educate oneself on the breed before buying a puppy, and that is why true breeders check potential buyers for their knowledge about care, handling and training dogs.
Rescue clubs are non-profit organizations, which deal in adopting, treating and finding owners for once adopted dogs. They closely cooperate with veterinarian services and concern themselves about the well-being of their pets. Specialists from these clubs also scan potential adopters of English Bulldogs for their true attitudes and knowledge.
